Ryes tried to make sense out of what Jonah was saying. “Shut up! Why are you so upset? Damn, I got a headache.”

“I’m upset because Riley has been here worried sick about you. You told Killian that if you die today, he should tell Riley you loved her. She heard you telling Killian that she wasn’t your type. That hurt her. We love Riley. I don’t like anyone upsetting her.”

“Well, then you can be with her.”

“I’m a married man, or did you forget about that as well?”

“When the hell did you get married? Who did you marry?”

“I married Rory, Kane’s sister.”

“What the fuck are you talking about?”

“Hello, why don’t you give me a moment to examine Ryes, and then you can come back in and finish your argument?”

“We’ll be in the waiting room.”

“Hey Doc, what’s wrong with me?”

“It would seem you have a memory loss. I’m sure it’s temporary. But let’s take some scans of your head. You may have damaged your head when you flew backward. I’ll have someone take you to get the scan. They said you had some fragment in your head, but the doctor said they got all that out.”

Ryes was busy thinking about the woman Riley. Why can’t I remember her? Do I love her? He shook himself. Hell no, I won’t ever fall in love.

“Here we go. I’ll have you back as soon as possible. How are you today?”

Ryes wanted to laugh, “I’ve been in a coma. I woke up about an hour ago. Most of my memory is gone. Apparently, I have a girlfriend here who I didn’t recognize. I hurt her feelings. I made my team members mad. That’s my day.”

“Sorry about that.”

Ryes chuckled, “Me too.”
